Melody was born to a Mexican mother and an African-American father. Her talent was first discovered at an elementary school talent show when she sang "Without You" by Mariah Carey. She is best known as the unique voice and sparkling personality of The Pussycat Dolls. She left High school and saw the Pussycat Dolls on MTV and heard they were auditioning for a new band member .Melody went along to the audition and made sure she was noticed and was welcomed aboard in Dec 2003. Her powerful and unique vocals are compared to Christina Aguilera.
